2018 'Harvest' of KPK Arrests Regional Head Hand
Channel Nasional . 2018 may be called the year of corruption of regional heads. Throughout the year, at least until mid-December 2018, dozens of regional heads, both those who are still in office or have finished serving become prisoners of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Based on data from the KPK, from 2004 to December 2018 at least 106 regional heads have been named as suspects. The head of this region includes governors, regents and mayors, including representatives of regional heads. For this year alone, as many as 31 regional heads were snared through hand-held operations (OTT), investigations, case developments, and delegations of cases from other law enforcement officials. Cases that ensnare them also range from bribery, enriching themselves or other parties, gratification, and money laundering.
