Sandiaga Uno Hug Maruf, After Confident about Tomato Prices
Jurnal Fakta. Candidate vice president number 02 Sandiaga Uno met with sugar cane and tomato farmers in Kediri, East Java, related to plans to improve the welfare of farmers.
One of Maruf's tomato farmers said that the failure of his tomato harvest had made his fate not yet prosperous. He asked for improvements in the welfare of farmers.
"Selling tomatoes makes me hurt. 70 kilograms is only valued at Rp. 7 thousand. Sir. I hope that being a vice president improves the economic fate of farmers. There needs to be the lowest retail price, so we don't lose," Maruf said on Thursday.
After confiding in the matter, Sandiaga hugged Maruf. "Patience, Mr. Maruf," he said, patting the middle-aged man.
One of the sugar cane farmers, Bambang also complained about the falling selling price due to sugar imports. He expressed his disappointment because there were sugar imports carried out by the government.
"Prices have fallen. Again, how come the rice imports sugar from other countries? Do you want to turn off the farmers?" Bambang said.
Sandi's sugar cane said he had signed a political contract with sugar cane farmers in Lumajang. There are seven requests from farmers that must be resolved if given the lead mandate in 2019.
A number of points are stopping imports, eradicating food mafia, revitalizing red plate sugar factories to soft credit.
Regarding the price of tomatoes complained by Maruf, Sandi promised to implement the program as he had done in DKI with a food station. The trick is to buy their harvest products directly from farmers by simplifying the distribution chain.
"It's like when we initiated the purchase of eggs from Blitar to maintain supplies so that the price of eggs in DKI Jakarta was stable and affordable. Direct purchases were made by PT Tjipinang Food Station. DKI residents need 260 tons of eggs per day, 100 tons from Blitar," said Sandi.
